Our Facility: The Landing

From 2000 through 2008, MAARS was located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. In January 2009, we moved to our new facility near downtown St. Paul. The MAARS Landing provides a safe, caring place for our surrendered and rescued birds to live while they are awaiting permanent adoption or sanctuary placement.

Hours & Directions

The Landing is not yet open to the public on a walk-in basis. Our Volunteer staff is simply not yet big enough to care for the birds, interview adopters, and offer care consultations while also being available to meet with walk-in guests. However, we would love to schedule your visit by appointment! Please contact us if you would like to visit The Landing to learn more about MAARS or visit with our adoptable birds.

We are always looking for more Volunteers to cover bird care shifts at The Landing. If you have some free time and would like to help out, please submit a Volunteer Application.

Our Future Plans

While we are getting by at the moment in our facilities at The Landing, we are looking toward the future and shooting for the stars! We will soon be officially starting a Capital Campaign to raise funds to purchase or build our own facility. Our building plans include ample housing and quarantine facilities for our birds, complete with indoor/outdoor enclosures. Sanitation and ease of maintenance will be key in the design. We also plan to include a food storage and prep kitchen, cage and accessory cleaning area, laundry, office space for administration and adoption interviews, a large meeting room(s) for a variety of classes and seminars, and a separate storefront and warehouse for the new MAARStore.
