Pidge

Stomp. Huff. STOMP! Little Pidge supervises the humans and communicates her displeasure with blustering foot stomps. She’s the first to tell us when we’re doing everything all wrong. Pidge is not afraid to share her opinion of how things should be done, usually with an indignant huff, “These humans are ridiculous!”

If you had met Pidge a few years ago, you would have seen a terrified, tortured soul languishing in captivity. She was sad and defeated, living in filthy conditions without emotional, mental, social, or physical enrichment. When humans approached, she would hide in terror; even distant eye contact would cause her to panic.

While not yet a fearless adventurer, Pidge grows more confident each day. She loves to fly around the room loudly sharing her thoughts. She’s still afraid of hands but eagerly accepts snacks from outstretched fingers. Pidge passionately dances to her favorite songs; her shrieks are some of the loudest among the flock and can be heard down the street. Her toy bin has become a favorite – what new treasures will she find today?

A tormented soul can overcome trauma with emotional support and a nurturing environment. A true survivor, Pidge feels so safe and secure that she will share her HUGE feelings. Pidge can melt the iciest heart…Or at least shatter it with deafening screams.

Pidge is a Moluccan Cockatoo, a large-size parrot whose costs for food, toys, and medicine are approximately $60 per month or $720 per year. If you would like to contribute to her health and well-being, no matter the amount, please click.

Thank you!
