Spanky joined the MAARS flock after being found abandoned outside. Preferring avian companionship to humans, her Canary-Winged friends traveled from Puerto Rico to join her at the sanctuary. She is a patient and gentle mentor to Gertrude McFuzz and the other juvenile Canary-Winged Parakeets.
