Help MAARS to #SpreadOurWings!

Family, Friends, Members, and Supporters,

Since purchasing and moving into our new facility in 2009, MAARS has made tremendous strides towards improving both the interior and exterior of the building and sanctuary space. We are therefore able to ensure we are able to provide for the health and welfare of the MAARS Flock, and to create a healthy and hospitable work environment for our volunteers.

These improvements have included, but certainly aren’t limited to:

  • Lighting upgrades that are close to full spectrum through-out the facility;
  • Room remodeling that improves Flock care and facility operations;
  • New windows throughout the facility;
  • New flooring throughout our facility;
  • and all of the other things that make a building a home and a place you can call your own – painting, organizing, decorating, and much more.

Even with all these improvements and upgrades, we have known all along that this space was a temporary facility for our flock, and now in our 20th year we are calling on our friends & supporters to help; we know that with your support we can #SpreadOurWings.

By an amazing act of generosity, MAARS has an Anonymous MATCHING DONOR for up to $10,000. This match is dependent on each of you donating. We will not receive the funds if we cannot raise the $10,000. This means that any dollar amount you give will be matched and is deeply appreciated!

While we love our home in Saint Paul, an urban setting is not a lifelong place for a flock of 79 parrots. Our goal with this fundraising effort is to start the process of finding a new forever home for our flock outside of the city, somewhere with year-round flight space where they can finally fly and flock together, using wings as nature intended.

Where they will have access to the outdoors and summer sun during our warm months. A place where gardens can be planted for them. A space where our wild-caught members can again have trees to roost in and these same joys can be shown to our captive-raised birds. A place where MAARS will again have the space to accept surrenders to show a whole new generation of parrots that there will always be a home & hope for better with us no matter how broken they arrive. A place where we can #SpreadOurWings.

We need all of you who support our mission & truly believe that a parrot’s life is best when they are with others of their own to help us reach our goal of $10,000, by donating. We are asking all of our supporters to please act now and give generously to aid this crucial step towards improving the lifelong standard of care for the 79 birds who call The Landing home and ensure the future well-being of the parrots who will reside at our sanctuary.

Do you know that our MAARS’ sanctuary and programs are supported entirely by charitable donations? MAARS does not receive any funding from government, state, county or city sources. Please, give generously to the MAARS New Facility Capital Improvement Fund today and help us ensure the highest care standards are met for all members of the MAARS flock. We cannot do this without your continued support.

By participating in this crucial first step, you will help
MAARS and our flock to #SpreadOurWings!

The MAARS staff and Board of Directors would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Anonymous donor for their incredible generosity in becoming our MATCHING DONOR for the MAARS New Facility Capital Improvement Fund.
